The lack of fully funded, cohesive economic development efforts over decades in Socorro and Sierra Counties – and now with the disastrous effects of COVID-19 – left our counties faced with dire economic and social consequences.
Led by the Middle Rio Grande Economic Development Association (MRGEDA), a group of 25 community members of Socorro and Sierra Counties determined that we must act quickly and decisively to expand our economic development efforts.
As a result, the MRGEDA Economic Development Assessment was created.
